A fun exploration finding an old abandoned O&C railroad tunnel from the late 1880's. The trails are basically old abandoned logging and construction roads that have been mostly overgrown.
Access: Head out Highway 66 / Greensprings Highway from Ashland, and turn right onto Buckhorn Springs Rd. just outside of town. Take the first right you come to onto Emmigrant Creek Rd which leads you to Forest Rd 39-2E-34. Follow this a couple miles until you get to the large and well marked trailhead parking area on your left. The road trail heads up on the right side of the road, around and past a yellow gate.
