Since we had hiked Siskiyou Peak before, we did not do it this time. Very recommended hike up there though. The Siskiyous, especially up on the crest like this are quite beautiful. This is just a small section of it, between Meridian Point Overlook north, and Siskiyou Gap south.
Access: From Ashland, head into the town of Talent and then west out Wagner Creek Road. Wagner Creek Rd eventually turns into Forest Service Road 22, passing the popular trailhead for Wagner Butte on your right, another great hike. Keep driving all they way up to the Siskiyou Crest where FS 22 eventually ends and meets Forest Road 20. To the left is Grouse Gap and Mt. Ashland. To the right is Siskiyou Gap, Wrangle Gap, and other destinations, including (eventually) Little Applegate. Park here, and the PCT can be accessed directly straight in front of you.
