Old Highway 99 to PCT/Pilot Rock, via Lone Pilot Trail

Access: Head south on Interstate 5 from Ashland, exiting for Mt. Ashland right before Siskiyou summit. Stay on Highway 99 south, passing the road up to Mt. Ashland on your right, and also passing the Pilot Rock road further down on your left. After a little bit there is a pull-off spot from Highway 99 on your left. Start the hike from here. It's a little hard to follow at first, but eventually hooks up with the Lone Pilot trail, and then heads up to the PCT. Lots of wild turkeys and awesome views of Pilot Rock from the south side.
